Building on momentum captured at COP28, where the use of standards in the climate action space was met with great enthusiasm, ISO Secretary-General Sergio Mujica met with Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to discuss ISO's contributions at COP29. | | |
The Secretary-General also met with Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Smart Nation and Cybersecurity, Singapore, after a panel discussion on AI. | Spotlight on AI | Artificial intelligence is set to become a driving force for the economy and society. A key area of focus during the week at Davos was on ensuring that technological advancements lead to shared, positive outcomes for the planet and our societies, requiring both innovation and guardrails.
ISO participated in several sessions on AI – at the AI House Davos and the Ice Village (Affiliate Programme) – to discuss, pose questions, and offer International Standards as solutions. ISO leaders convened with prominent speakers from business and international organizations, fostering valuable discussions and insights.
